Bill Bryson

Hi All,

The John Harding is on its way to me. Meanwhile I would strongly recommend A Short History of Nearly Everything. Bill Bryson's dazzling popular science book. I am not even half way and am riveted by his examination of the Earth, the Universe, atoms etc.

I should have learnt some of this at school - science was badly taught and I am consequently a real ignoramus in all such matters
